Anagram Solver

Unscramble letters to find every word that fits, or go the other way and turn a spelling list into a printable anagram sheet with answers. There is a filter for words a primary child would actually know.

Up to 12 letters. Use ? for a letter you can choose — c?t finds cat, cot and cut.

Results you can put on the board

Most solvers answer listen with a wall of words no child has met. Leave Only words a child would know on and you get the ones worth showing. It is not a hand-cut list — it is how common each word is, which is what makes it trustworthy.

A spelling list, as a puzzle

Paste the words, press print, and you have this week's anagram sheet with an answer sheet behind it. The scrambles avoid leaving letters where they started, because elephant → elephnat is not a puzzle.

Where the words come from

The word list is SCOWL, a long-standing open spell-checking lexicon, used under its own permissive licence — the full notice is here. It downloads once, the first time you solve something.
